I first saw him in 2006 backed up by an orchestra. So he decided to stick his toe back into the touring world gradually, agreeing to a small amount of dates each year, which he continues to do. He has said in interviews over the years that during his time with Chicago they toured faithfully every year and he no doubt was pretty road weary after all that.Īt the beginning of the 2000s, he began to hear from promoters about doing some concerts. And other than a small handful of shows in the mid-90s, he didn't return to regular touring until 2002. But after leaving them in 1985, though he continued to put out albums and have hits, he pretty much hung up his road boots.
